Our Community

At Taylors we recognise the importance of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and strive to benefit the local and wider community through an enduring program of Aid and Corporate Social Responsibility -‘Our Community’

Taylors is committed to the communities in which we operate, and the Our Community CSR Program is dedicated to creating opportunities and empowering people within these communities.

Throughout the years Taylors have sought to support Our Community in different ways and this contribution has taken many forms from large scale pro bono & aid work in countries like Vietnam, Bangladesh and Fiji, to small scale donations to local charities.

Volunteer Fire Brigades Victoria
VFBV Volunteer Welfare Fund

The Victorian CFA Volunteers put their lives on the line to selflessly fight fires and they travel far and wide across our great land to defend Australians, their homes and property.

Volunteer Firefighter’s devote their time to help others but sometimes can find themselves in difficult financial crisis. Unforseen emergencies such as loss of work, family illness &/or death, accidental injury or even drought, can place significant financial burden on volunteers. The fund has been established to assist in ensuring the ongoing health and welfare of Volunteer members and their families experiencing significant financial hardship.

The CFA Volunteer Welfare Fund was created to provide small grants to these volunteers who are experiencing loss of earnings, costs for accommodation and travel associated with their volunteering efforts and to those that are suffering from long term illness or bereavement.

The Taylors team ran an Australia Day Bushfire Support Raffle with all proceeds going to support this great initiative. Together we raised $584, which will thank and assist the volunteers for all the support they’ve provided to our communities.

Port Macquarie Koala Hospital – Helping Thirsty Koalas

The Koala Hospital is raising money to purchase and distribute automatic drinking stations to areas that had been burnt in the horrific bush fires in eastern Australia.

At Taylors, we are caring for and contributing to the future of our precious Australian wildlife by donating $2,000 to the Port Macquarie Koala Hospital – Helping Thirsty Koalas campaign.

Our donation will assist with the care of any koalas injured in the horrific bushfires across eastern Australia and as well as the purchase and distribution of automatic drinking stations to the burnt-out areas.

As koalas get the bulk of their water from eucalyptus leaves, the decimation of their habitat has forced koalas to seek additional sources of hydration and these drinking stations will provide continuous supply to these much-loved Australian icons.

Overwhelming support by the public in response to this Go Fund Me cause means that the hospital will also now be able to purchase a vehicle and trailer to transport a 1,000-litre water tank to continually refill the drinking stations with water.

Property Industry Foundation – Make a House a Home

There are over 110,000 homeless people in Australia and 44,000 of those are under 25 years’ old. 16,000 are under 12!

The Property Industry Foundation brings together people from across Australia’s property and construction industry to use their skills and resources to assist make a tangible difference to the serious and persistent problem of youth homelessness.

The Property Industry Foundation, does more than physically build homes for homeless youth. Their focus on the small details that give a home an identity ensures homeless youth feel comfortable and empowered to live worry-free and without concern for basic living necessities like toiletries and a bed to sleep on. These projects provide a space where at-risk youth can not only live but feel they belong.

Taylors’ donation will directly support the PIF House Clayton which is currently in the design and development stage. The 6-bedroom home, being built for Lighthouse Foundation with project partner Frasers Property Australia, will house young people who have suffered long-term abuse and neglect.

The house will be a safe and nurturing environment where Lighthouse Foundation will provide therapeutic counselling and guidance for young people aged between 15 and 22, supported by two live-in carers and a dedicated team of psychologists and health professionals. Through this experience, young people will feel empowered to build lives of independence.

Through the Lighthouse Foundation’s Therapeutic Family Model of Care, young people can stay in a home for as long as they need, having a ‘lifetime support membership’ through Outreach programs. Their transition to an independent life is made easier with 24-hour, seven days a week support.
